Kim’s passion for design began with a degree in Interior Design from the University of Nebraska. Her career took off when she joined the hospitality design team at Marriott International. In 1989, she expanded her expertise by working with an Axminster carpet manufacturer, paving the way for her to launch K.D. Swanson Hospitality Resource in 1993. Her mission was clear: to represent manufacturers committed to quality, value, and impeccable customer service.
Now, 32 years later, Kim remains steadfast in her mission, partnering with hospitality manufacturers who prioritize excellence and long-term relationships.
With 38 years of experience spanning hospitality design, sales, and manufacturing, Kim brings unparalleled energy and creativity to the table. Her unique perspective bridges the gap between design inspiration, purchasing, and manufacturing, fostering seamless collaboration across the industry.​
Peter brings a wealth of experience to the team, with 34 years in the commercial real estate industry. His career includes six years leasing and managing industrial space for a commercial real estate developer and a decade in business and economic development. During 18 years of federal service with the Army Corps of Engineers (DoD) and the Department of State (DoS), Peter specialized in managing and negotiating real estate building and site acquisitions for federal agencies.
He holds a business degree from the University of Akron and a Master’s in Real Estate Science from Johns Hopkins University, adding academic expertise to his extensive professional background.​​
Pierson is a returning team member, who interned with us and helped at an NEWH trade show while he was majoring in Hospitality Management at James Madison University. Go Dukes!
He is our new behind-the-scenes project manager by day and
Nashville based singer-songwriter at night.
